The holiday windows at Bergdorf Goodman continue their acclaimed tradition of high fantasy, dramatic surprises, extraordinary fashion and compelling storytelling with this year’s theme, “Bergdorf GoodTimes”, evoking the time-honored spirit of a holiday fête, but with a twist, as each window captures a different and unexpected scene of revelry, celebration and indulgent fantasy. With production spanning nearly a year from conception to completion, the windows invite all who view them to join in the fun of playful diversions and nostalgic games.
David Hoey, Senior Director of Visual Presentation and longtime window dresser at Bergdorf Goodman, and his team of artisans have employed a range of mediums, such as neon, Italian mosaic tile, needlecraft, soft sculpture, custom painted finishes, and embellished surfaces, to deliver a dazzling visual experience.
Hoey says, “It is our privilege to be able to bring out our show-business side, producing these windows with as much detail and pizzazz as we can fit into them, and then to raise a curtain on them in the center of New York City.”
Each window presents its own interpretation of the “GoodTimes” theme. See them all here and visit the 2019 holiday windows at 5th Avenue and 58th Street in New York.begin slideshow
