Snapped at BG: Part 11

Whether you’re a resident of NYC or just visiting, you know that Bergdorf Goodman is where you’ll find the most fashionable people in town. In our eleventh installation of Snapped at BG, we got to know some of the interesting people and fashion enthusiasts who come to discover the world of Bergdorf Goodman.

Sonja Bovw, visiting from Australia.

“I’m Australlian and I’ve been living in Chicago for the last 4 years, we’re moving back to Australlia in 11 days. So this is kind of a last hurrah for me. Over the last few years I’ve seen people stick to the monotone colors. But I love colors. I’m not afraid to mix and match patterns and colors.”

Pam Marks, New York resident.

“Yesterday I went to the Libertine show and afterwards I went back to Johnson’s hotel room where he was having a trunk show for buyers. He was lounging in bed watching a marathon of New York Housewives the entire time I was there! He’s hilarious. I’ve been to Johnson’s studio a few times in LA. He’s amazing. But most of the Libertine pieces I bought were actually here at Bergdorf Goodman.”

Cary Malkin, visiting from Chicago.

Cary: My sense of style? Old fashioned.”
Cary’s daughter: 1930.”
Cary: I already said old fashioned! I wear suits all the time. It’s like a uniform for me. I think it’s probably because I started wearing suits to school in the 6th grade.”

Elaine Diny, visiting from China.

“This is my first time in New York. My husband and I have a small retail shop in Shanghai and we’re here looking for some inspiration. I was a teacher before I got into fashion. When I met my husband I moved to Shanghai and we both loved fashion so we decided to open our shop together 8 years ago. It started very small, 30 square meters – but it’s grown a lot – now it’s 200 square meters.”

Renee Itoney, visiting from Michigan.

“My shoes are old Miu Miu, my pants are vintage Versace. I love vintage clothes. My daughter is 17 and she’s about to leave for college. I’m so sad she’s leaving but I’m proud of her. When I was her age I was just into partying. She’s so far beyond that!”
