Last night, Bergdorf Goodman and New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corp celebrated our latest window installations that infuse the sights and flavors of New Orleans to Fifth Avenue in celebration of the city’s tricentennial. BG is featuring New Orleans not only in our windows, but inside our restaurant and June 2018 magazine as well. The five windows will be on display now through August 5th, with each placing a spotlight on different aspect of New Orleans—iconography, festive celebrations, music, cuisine and architecture—as well as creating a showcase for select fashion from the Fall 2018 collections.
To bring the spirited flavors of New Orleans to New York City, BG Restaurant has teamed up with the most recent James Beard Best Chef: South winner, Nina Compton on a special menu. “I’m honored to represent New Orleans in the Big Apple and help celebrate 300 years of the beautiful city that I call home,” said Nina Compton, chef/owner of Compere Lapin and Bywater American Bistro in New Orleans. “For this event, I created a menu that really showcases the unique food and culture of the Crescent City.”
Available from July 18 to July 25, the unique menu will feature three courses including a Shrimp Remouladeappetizer, two entrée choices of Baked Jerk Drumand Shrimp Ragu with Creamy Heirloom Gritsand Peach Bread Puddingfor dessert along with a specialty cocktail.
