Carolina Herrera has a lot to celebrate this year. The Venezuelan-born designer marked the 35th anniversary of her label with a retrospective exhibit at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and a lush Rizzoli book art-directed by Fabien Baron. She’s being justly awarded by SCAD and Lincoln Center, and a new boutique opens on the Fourth Floor at Bergdorf Goodman in December.
The capstone of this landmark year, the Resort Collection is fittingly distilled to the essence of the Herrera look: Black-and-white florals carry her pretty polish, while high-waisted, wide-leg pants look daring but elegant, and peplums and brightly colored stripes are both chic and playful. It’s classic Herrera, while also fresh and youthful, with the refined glamour that has made her a favorite of First Ladies and red carpet regulars.
To A Tee
What do you get a fashion-obsessive this holiday season? Here’s just the thing: exclusive, limited-edition T-shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Prabal Gurung, Michael Kors and Jason Wu.
The Bergdorf Goodman buying team curated an exclusive collection from some of our favorite designers. Marc Jacobs gives Mickey Mouse a brightly colored makeover, while Chloé delivers a cutoff sweatshirt, Flashdance-style. Mary Katrantzou rings the neck of a shirt in flowers, and Proenza Schouler mixes stripes and flowers. Or try a bejeweled Libertine or tie-dyed Rodarte. Find them in November in a shop on the Third Floor and on BG.com.
If Prada is for an arty smarty pants, Miu Miu is her younger, flirtier sister. Christened with Miuccia Prada’s family nickname, the spirited ready-to-wear collection returns to Bergdorf Goodman this season with an array of short-and-sweet schoolgirl dresses, embellished jackets and tops, and sweaters tied in the back with gingham bows (much like the bows on Miu Miu’s punky ballet flats so popular right now). Meanwhile, the handbags come to the New Main Floor bedecked with sparkling crystals and oversized chains and buckles.
Known for luxe fur coats and jackets, Yves Salomon brings ready-to-wear to BG for the first time. The French label’s suede and shearling dresses are of the same well-crafted, supple variety that turns Yves Salomon pieces into wardrobe essentials.

In Dior’s exclusive capsule collection, sneakers and pumps in dark and light denim are embroidered with floral patterns, and then there’s a patent leather pump in neutral hues that go with everything.
Tabitha Simmons also harnesses the raw edge of denim in espadrilles, slides and even a lace-up jazz shoe.
Sweet poppy embellishments bloom throughout Jimmy Choo’s collection of 13 fun, feminine styles.
Handbag doyenne Nancy Gonzalez’s debut shoe collection comes to Bergdorf Goodman first, with bright, beach-friendly pink and orange hues that take the streamlined sandals into statement piece territory.
