TOMS: One Day Without Shoes

Day Without Shoes

Didn’t you know? We love shoes. I mean really love shoes. We get so excited when we hear of new arrivals in our shoe salon, new designers joining us, and in-store shoe events (ehem.. new 5F Shoes and Christian Louboutin). But we also love a good cause, and what’s better than one that involves our biggest obsession?

TOMS, a company that matches a pair of shoes for every pair bought, celebrates their annual One Day Without Shoes today to help to raise awareness about the impact that shoes can have on a person’s life. We know how important it is to have shoes – more than just a fashion statement, they allow us move around this bustling city on a daily basis. So, in honor of TOMS today, we asked our 5F associates to sport their favorite styles on the floor (because I’m sure that Mr. Goodman would be rather displeased with us going sans shoes — no matter how thoughtful the cause). By giving shoes to those in need, TOMS provides far more than just an accessory… it’s a chance for a renewed life, one for one.  What are your favorite TOMS styles?

About TOMS:
Blake Mycoskie founded TOMS in 2006 after an inspirational trip to South America, where many children in poverty lacked shoes. The designer adapted the traditional Argentine alpargata shoe and launched TOMS with the mission of donating a pair of shoes for every pair he sold. Today, TOMS has given away more than a million pairs, and in addition to the original alpargata-inspired TOMS shoe, the collection includes wedges and wrap boots, among other styles, plus Tiny TOMS, a line for children.
