An Exclusive Opportunity

8 12 2011

As we eagerly prep the Beauty Level for the October launch of Tom Ford Beauty, a wonderfully impressive collection of color cosmetics and skincare, we must first clear the boutique and bid a tearful adieu to the first generation of Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color. The regal, white enamel and gold trimmed packaging is going bye-bye…as are all but five of the original twelve shades.

Gasp!

But before feathers ruffle and undergarments bunch, we are offering 5th/58th followers an exclusive opportunity to reserve your favorite shades of first generation Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color before the new collection arrives. Once the new collection hits the counter, the white and gold packaging, as well as seven of the original twelve shades, are gone forever.

Collectors: Dust off your charge cards!

To procure your favorite shades before they’re gone for good, call or visit the Tom Ford counter, reference this blog post, and reserve your product.

On wearing red…

Do you crave a crimson pout for fall? Arguably, red is the most intimidating lip shade known to woman. While we admire the crisp, bold, painted statement on others, we rarely view it as wearable for us non-starlet types. Well the beauty girls at BG (respectfully) disagree. Every woman can wear red, it’s merely a matter of selecting the right shade and proper formula. Jot copious notes as we demystify red and dole out helpful tips on mastering this season’s scene stealing look.

Patience is a Virtue

The “right” red will not magically plant itself on your vanity. One must go out and seek the perfect shade. Much like the pursuit for perfect fitting denim or the definitive LBD, the quest for your best red takes time. Once you set your sights on procuring red perfection, shop in spurts….perhaps at lunch time or as an after work pick-me-up. Scattering your red hunt over the course of a couple of weeks will reduce your anxiety over finding the perfect shade.

An Open Mind

Be open to suggestions. The beauty counter expert likely has many years of experience in helping women find their perfect match. As a makeup artist, he or she has an advanced understanding of undertones and texture and will likely have a few good suggestions that will work. Ultimately, you’re the boss…but having the help of an expert is invaluable.

  Velvety Soft or Smooth Operator

Choose the lipstick texture that best complements your skin type. If you have oily skin, consider a semi-matte to matte finish. The balance is actually quite beautiful. If skin is on the dry side, opt for a satin or slightly glossy finish. Again, the balance of skin’s natural texture and lipstick texture will work cohesively to paint a complete picture.

My Fair Lady

Statement making lips pair best with flawless complexion. Minimize blemishes and minor imperfections with concealer and a light setting powder.

Bare Minimum

Allow lips to do all of the talking (literally and figuratively) by keeping eye makeup at a minimum. Lightly coated lashes, well-groomed brows, and perhaps the thinnest smudge of liner is plenty (for daytime).

Strut

Lastly, own it. Confidence + Red Lip = You’re doing it right!
