The Jason Wu Accessories Challenge
Welcome to the World of Jason Wu, where femme silhouettes brush shoulders with a retro dose ladylike chic. A Jason Wu girl is polite… but a little rambunctious, devious but never one to get caught. She’s resourceful, always. You never know what kind of tricks she may have hiding in her Daphne tote, especially when it’s Erica Domesek of P.S. — I Made This…
This week we’ve continued our Accessories Challenge series with the ultimate DIY-master to see just how this busy girl-on-the-go would use Jason’s latest bags and new shoe collection. As you’ll soon learn, this is an incredibly busy week for Erica — so we can’t wait to see how Jason’s latest collection works for a truly hectic schedule (including meeting the designer this Thursday during his NEST Fragrances appearance on the Main Floor). Like our Nancy Gonzalez and Valentino Rockstud Challenges, Erica must incorporate one of the four accessories (two bags, two shoes) into her look each day. So join us each afternoon as we follow Erica during this week’s Jason Wu Challenge.

TGIF! Coming to you live from the beaches of Montauk, NY. That’s right, I skipped town after meeting the amazing Jason Wu last night, and drove out to Montauk for my best friend Amy’s birthday dinner at The Crow’s Nest. If you ever have the chance to visit my other home town I strongly suggest you getting their Kale Salad, fried chick peas and their skate!

This morning I did a little work, then rewarded myself with an afternoon yoga session at Love Yoga. Since I have 30 errands to do for Amy’s weekend BBQ at my friend Athena’s house, (PS- she’s the most talented and creative person, check out her amazing blog Eye-Swoon) I opted for Jason’s Daphne cross body because I need my hands free to drive, shop and bop around town today. Even though I was in my yoga gear, I still felt somewhat put together knowing I had a hint of sass.
After a busy week of work, play, and now gearing up for a fantastic beach weekend with friends, I’ve come to the conclusion that no matter where you are or what you’re doing, your accessories make your life more beautiful and fun. Jason was the best partner in crime this week to slap a smile on my face.
#FF JasonWu because he’s simply j’amazing! Namaste

Today was all about movers and shakers! And by that, I mean we moved into a new office today and I also got the chance to meet and shake the hand of the incredible Jason Wu. Jason was on-hand at his in-store event at Bergdorfs where he was signing his new NEST Fragrances Jason Wu Orchid Rain Candle, which smell like floral love in candle form. Oh, and can we discuss that I freaked out when Jason was signing candles with Sharpies. I reached into my bag and gave him a bevy of my signature P.S. – I Made This… ones. Jason gravitated to the hot pink sharpie and told me that it is his favorite color (mine too)! Señor Wu and I started talking DIY instantly and are already plotting a project! Get excited!
PS – My outfit today is the essence of me. I’m heading out of town tonight to hit the beach for a long weekend. I wore my bright beach skirt with a python jacket. It’s funny how Jason’s heels and bags can take my look of crazy mis-matched summer fun into a whimsy and fun girl-about-town kinda look - which I die for!
Ladies: Do invest in a chic pair of Wu heels and bag. They will transform and step up your look in seconds. I’m living proof!

Wednesday

School may be out for summer but I’m still running around like a busy bee! Today I opted for a black tie look – no party required. Nothing is more classic than the black & white combo. However, my kind of black tie is a wearable everyday option that anyone can pull off. Don’t wait for a fancy invite to dress the part, simply pop on a basic black dress with a cropped white blazer or cardigan. I’m obsessed with this Caravan white little number. Of course I had to add a pop of neon with a bright DIY necklace made by yours truly.
To round out my black tie attire, I opted for Jason Wu flats that are perfect for tap dancing through the day. They are also great kicks for sliding down railings. These black patent beauties wreak of class with a peek of orange infused under the sole for some fashion soul… get involved!

Tuesday
Rain, rain, go away, and seriously don’t come back another day. Cue the song, Just One of Them Days, by everyone’s favorite R&B girl Monica, because today my luck ran out.
Today, when I had to pop around for errands after the gym, I wore my favorite & most comfortable Keds x Opening Ceremony flats, a black dress I found while on vacation in Florida and a denim jacket which I paired with my new favorite child, I mean handbag… by Jason Wu. I looked very NYC-errand-schlubby-chic.

Lesson #48 being a NY’er: Thou should always be prepared for weather disasters! Silly me, because I rushed out today, I left my umbrella ella ella at home and got DRENCHED (notice my rain-disheveled hair?). Oh, and my lucky hot pink rabbits foot snapped off my key chain when I darted into a stairwell off 57th street. PS – how cool are those betina sea foam stairs?! I chilled on the stairs and used my iPhone to hail a ride from Uber. If you don’t know Uber, you should. They are a car sevice that is controlled through an App.
Waiting for my car, I thought about today’s lesson, which is… Not everyday can be tip top. However, always remember your accessories can still shine even in the gloomiest of days. Thank you Mr. Wu for being my partner in crime today.

Monday
I love MonDIY’s! Nothing gets me going like a power-meeting to kick off the week. Every women feels more confident in a pair of high heels, so I grabbed my new Jason Wu babies that screams “DIY Mogul” and dressed for summer success with a smile. Pairing with a Thakoon skirt, Vince tank, a Zara blazer, and a lil bit ‘o DIY… Yes, that’s my “Prep Patch Necklace”, as seen on the pages of my Book — I was dressed to impress.
Whenever I have a meeting, I need a fab bag that fits my life — aka, my notebook, sharpies (if you don’t know I’m a Sharpie addict, then get in the know), 6 lip glosses, and my oversized non-wallet, wallet. I haven’t used a wallet in about 9 months, so I pack everything into a smaller Rebecca Minkoff gold clutch that is my faux-wallet. This is the ultimate bag that screams, “Successful Chic on-the-go”. Oh, it’s also hands-free, which are pretty much the only bags I will get down with.
P.S. — Meeting went went, stay tuned for some exciting news on my front about what’s in the works. Oh, and there was a ping pong table that was just hanging out in the lobby… I totally got involved. It was kinda like a Posh Spice meets Sporty Spice kinda afternoon. Playing ping pong in 4″ heels is pretty much a not normal, yet totally normal kinda day. Welcome to my life!
