The Gilded Age
Decorative Home, on the Seventh Floor, is not afraid to enter the realm of good-natured extravagance. To celebrate our anniversary, the Great Hall pays stylish homage to the Gilded Age. It's over the top in the best way: Romanesque meets Renaissance meets Rococo.

FLIGHT OF FANCY
John Dransfield and Geoffrey Ross are the influential designers behind their eponymous, twenty-year-old, Manhattan-based home furnishings company. And they believe in serious fun: Their hand-painted metallic gold feather pillow is guaranteed to get noticed.

THE SLOW BURN
L’Objet brings mystery and craftsmanship to everything they make. The Malachite Candle recalls keepsakes found in a cabinet of curiosities. The handle is amethyst trimmed with hand-gilded 24-karat gold; the compelling scent is pink champagne.

LET THERE BE LIGHT
The ultimate signature statement, a chandelier is the only piece of furniture you never move. The “Arlequin,” from venerable French house Saint-Louis, features hand-cut amethyst, chartreuse and lilac crystals.

TABLE OF CONTENTMENT
A festive dinner party deserves a table in the same celebratory spirit. That means Gayle Warwick linen napkins in L’Objet 24K gold-plated napkin rings, dragon salt and pepper cellars from Pestelli, the historic workshop in Florence. Pampaloni handcrafted flatware is the pinnacle of the craft, while Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur’s porcelain dinnerware, featuring mythological figures in gold relief medallions, raises the bar for the chef. Julian Mejia’s metallic gold place mat is no afterthought; it’s all part of a table well set.
