BG Beauty Review: Sunday Riley Juno Transformative Lipid Serum
If a product is so bold as to use the word “Transformative” in its title — well then it’s practically begging to have a tough as nails, been-there-tried-that, super skeptical Beauty Editor put its lofty declaration to the test. ”Transformative”?. . such claims!
-
Firstly, let’s just put it out there: Juno Transformative Lipid Serum is an oil (212 872 8635). A rare, dry oil absolute to be exact. And while we completely acknowledge that good-for-you oils (ones that do not clog pores or create an oil slick) exist, we also recognize that lots of women still shudder at the thought of applying oil to skin . . . particularly now that it’s summertime.
A few words about oils — some are good & some are bad. When a product is labeled oil-free, it generally means that it is formulated sans mineral oil – a major no-no oil for acne prone, oily, and sensitive skin types. Now onto the good oils. . .
Juno Transformative Lipid Serum contains a cocktail of deeply penetrating, lightweight oils that collectively perform the task of de-aging, calming, protecting, treating, and refining skin tone & texture. Oils like Acai and Black Cumin Seed (rich in essential amino acids) work to soothe inflamed skin. Broccoli Seed, Cranberry Seed, and Red Raspberry Seed oil all contain high concentrations of natural retinol – a proven wrinkle reducer [and, might we add: holy grail anti-aging ingredient for our finicky Beauty Editor]. Carrot Seed oil, along with retinol-packed Cranberry Seed oil, is a natural UV fighter and provides a natural sun protection factor of 8. Black Cumin Seed and Blackberry Seed oil soothe acne prone skin.
After using Juno Transformative Lipid Serum for several weeks, here are our Beauty Editor’s observations: One pump of product goes a long way. Each morning & evening I treat my face, neck, décolletage, and shoulders with just one pump of serum. My stressed skin feels an instant wash of relief. I’m careful to press the product into my skin. . . I never rub. Visible complexion imperfections like dryness and ruddy tone are immediately remedied. The fast-absorbing cocktail leaves a soft glow to skin.
Lately I’ve been particularly critical of my forehead and find myself closely monitoring anything that even remotely resembles a crease. I furrow my brows a lot so this is a real concern. The second I press Sunday Riley Juno Transformative Lipid Serum into my forehead, it’s suddenly very difficult to see where I thought I maybe possibly perhaps saw my starter wrinkle. The serum has a way of smoothing everything out, in a flash! And it is because of this instant smoothing effect (and the natural SPF 8 bonus), that I have starting applying Sunday Riley Juno Transformative Lipid Serum not just beneath my makeup but over it as well. It’s a great midday skin drink — I use a drop to treat my forehead and cheeks. It’s also a good end of day boost before heading out for after-work meet ups. . . everyone will comment on your glow.
Bottom Line: Does Sunday Riley Juno Transformative Lipid Serum live up to its ambitious title?Indeed, it does. With every application, the ‘transformation’ is immediately visible. . . and over time, skin is less inflamed & more luminous. One drop to skin makes you a believer. Our super fussy Beauty Editor is impressed!
