What To Wear for New Year’s Eve

Previous Next

New Year’s Eve is in 5 days. You’ve finally nailed down your evening plans, now it’s time to find your perfect look to ring in 2013.

Here are our five best looks to complete your celebrations. Classic black and white and sparkle does the trick, but this year, spice up your outfit. Add some prints, edge, and a little flash of pantone’s color of the year 2013… eh em, the ever-flattering emerald.

IF YOU’RE ON AN ISLAND –

Lucky you.. the air is warm, sun is shinning, and bright resort colors are the perfect accompaniment to your beach plans. A.L.C.’s chic jumpsuit works with flat sandals for a beach party or heels for a later evening. Dress it up with a clutch from Proenza Schouler or VBH and shark-tooth earrings from Givenchy or cuffs from Eddie Borgo.

IF YOU’RE BRAVE ENOUGH TO BRAVE TIMES SQUARE –

Brr… bring a cross-body and gloves when seeing the ball drop at Times Square. Stay warm and comfortable with lots of layers. Leather and suede metallic pants are perfect for Times Square and to your next venue when you continue celebrating after midnight. Givenchy’s Pandora bag will fit all your necessities for the tradition. Rag & Bone’s Shearling Coat - on sale – and walkable booties will keep you standing on your feet throughout the performances.

IF YOU FIND YOURSELF ON A MOUNTAIN –

Why hello, Après.. your coat is the key element on your trip and NYE. Bundle up in Altuzarra (on sale!), Rag & Bone and more in our Cold Weather Shop. Bold prints, shearling and modern cuts are perfect for both day time celebrations and dinner with friends at the Caribou Club. Keep your feet covered in suede boots like Giuseppe Zanotti bourdeux boots or Valentino’s Rockstud booties and bring along your accessories

IF YOU FANCY A LAVISH GALA –

Let your emerald Lanvin dress standout and keep the accessories more basic.  Valentino’s Rockstud Heels are comfortable enough to keep you dancing all night or start wearing the spring trend early in Stella McCartney’s Halographic Pumps. One piece of cocktail jewelry does the trick – we like Dannijo’s cocktail collection.

IF YOU’RE VENUE HOPPING –

Comfort is key when bouncing around downtown Manhattan. You’ll be saying hi to old friends after that early concert and in-between house parties. Start with your shoes - Maison Martin Margiela oxfords or Alexander Wang booties are some of our favorites. Follow with Opening Ceremony’s printed dress (sale!) Rag & Bone’s blazer & leather pants and Alexander Wang’s leather shorts and a cross-body or strap bag - Valentino here.
