NYFW City Secrets

Previous Next

Fashion Week is upon us, and as usual we’re mapping out our schedules of both shows and revival. This February, we’ve outlined the places where we like to pause, refresh and caffeinate.

By Lincoln Center:
The Empire Hotel Bar — popular with those traveling into New York for Fashion Week, this is the busiest spot on the Upper West Side
Whole Foods — on a warmer, clear day, the BG team’s been known to grab a snack here before walking back to Fifth Avenue and 58th Street

By Milk Studios:
Pastis — this is Linda’s favorite spot for a midday pause and regroup
Chelsea Market — our buyers love sneaking into this labyrinthine foodie paradise
Blue Bottle Coffee — nothing’s stronger on the West Side
Bar at The Maritime Hotel — another Linda favorite. Particularly the light installation at the south entrance
Soho House — this member’s-only club is perfect for 30-minute catch-ups and impromptu meetings
5 Ninth — at the end of the day, we’ve been known to enjoy a glass of wine at this local eatery

Little Spots in between and beyond:
Bryant Park skate rink — perfect people watching when we have an odd thirty-minutes to spare
New York Public Library at Bryant Park — Thom Browne typically shows here… and we don’t mind getting lost among the racks before and afterward
Ides at the Wythe Hotel — at the end of the day, it’s nice to step away from the Fashion Week fray.  This one has perfect New York City views
Gramercy Park Hotel Terrace — many a fashion week fete unfolds at this rooftop spot. We typically find ourselves hypnotized by the lightbulb installation
