Introducing: Coquette Atelier
There is something about vintage clothing that is magnetic, seductive and ultimately chic. It calls to you from a bygone era: the soft muffle of a trumpet playing from a phonograph, a candle lit room, the swank of a jazz bar… the flash of a disco ball. It transports and transforms you. Whether you’re channeling old glamour from the 20s, the quirky mod of the 60s, or the glitter of 70s disco, vintage is the now. What happens when you mix style, seduction, fashion, history and glamour together? You end up with something magnificently special, and that gem has made its grand entrance on to our third floor.
Rare and exquisite, the Coquette Atelier vintage collection is a fête of history, high fashion, style, and quality. The tightly edited, hand-picked garments are restored to superior perfection breathing new life to vintage pieces by iconic designers such as Thierry Mugler, Pierre Cardin, Halston, Balmain, Geoffrey Beene, Yves Saint Laurent, and Givenchy. These one-of-a-kind pieces are essentials for the modern wardrobe. Coquette Atelier’s two visionaries Rona Gaye Stevenson, the collector and curator, and Cassandra Grey, brand visionary, are just as special as their collection. “Rona and Cassandra embody that elusive yet magnetic thing we call ‘glamour,’ so naturally everything they wear, touch and feel is infused with their deep and innate enthusiasm for style.” says Linda Fargo, Senior Vice President, Fashion Office and Store Presentation, Bergdorf Goodman. This is surely something not to be missed.
