We’re not quite sure how it happened or precisely when, but suddenly we find ourselves thoroughly enchanted with smudgy, strategically smeared, inky eyes. Whether a deep, smoldering shade with rich sooty qualities or a shimmery, speckled jewel tone — sultry, exotic, mysterious eyes have captured our heart…and lids.

Two get-the-look picks:

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour

New to Laura Mercier’s permanent collection, Caviar Stick Eye Colour is blendable, crease-resistant, and a cinch to use. The creamy consistency and extensive shade assortment provide endless application options. For a smoky-rimmed lash line, we reach for sapphire (particularly beautiful on brown eyes), plum, and jungle and apply directly to the lash line. Next, we smudge the line ever so slightly to create a smoldering effect. However, for a neutral wash of sheer color, we apply a swift swipe of khaki, amethyst, or cocoa to the entire lower lid and blend upwards toward the crease of the lid, fading the color as we move upward.

Feeling adventurous? Layer Caviar Stick Eye Colour to create depth and dimension. Start with a neutral tone, like khaki, on the entire lid, then enhance the lash line with a deeper shade, like plum. Easy eyes…we love it!

Guerlain Terracotta Khol Kajal

Guerlain Terracotta Khol Kajal is our Beauty Editor’s must-have for intensely dramatic, hypnotic eyes. The richly pigmented Khol softly frames and defines eyes without appearing harsh or overly drawn on. Every girl needs a go-to product that ups the come-hitcher factor in a nano-second, and girls — this is it!
