Introducing: Dries Van Noten
For 21 years, Dries Van Noten has proven that chic can be both international and personal…
This week, we are thrilled to announce that this sought-after collection has arrived in our Women’s and Men’s Stores. Cleverly juxtaposing old and new, the Dries Van Noten Fall Collection has a casual cool that feels informal yet still New Look polite. Inspired by 1950s tailoring, embroidery and the punk aesthetic, Dries’ women’s collection encourages textured mixology: leopard scarves topping striped shirts paired with hand-painted duchess silk skirts cast in moody floral prints; oversized boyfriend sweaters with full, ladylike skirts; and silver-threaded embroidered jackets combined with contrasting – yet, strangely, complementing – leopard prints.
Threading the Men’s and Women’s collections is their shared militaristic tone – Prince of Wales prints, vibrant stripes, olive green and silver hand-embroidery. For his Menswear Collection, Dries studied archival designs and reinterpreted uniforms seen on the Queen’s bodyguards and on Saville Row. His is a thoughtful approach, designing everything himself (from the buttons to the overcast brushed-silk floral patterns) and finding inspiration in the slightest of things.
This attention to detail will be reflected when our new Dries Van Noten shop on 3, created in collaboration with the designer to reflect his global sensibility, opens in September.
