Denim Defined has changed: Warm up on 5F instead
This is what's happening this weekend
We’ve made a donation to the Red Cross and now we want to help you make one, too.
If you haven’t caught on, this week’s Denim Defined event changed as Hurricane Sandy made her approach on New York.
This isn’t the right time to talk about fit and pocket-size… instead we want you to come reconnect with family & friends, make yourself at home….feel a little bit more human. So we’ve set up a charging station on 5F: go ahead and use our wifi (it’s BG wifi). You’re probably hungry and tired of granola bars, so we kept the catering… forgive us is the menu is a little sparse (we are working from a limited supply). We’ve picked up some board games (we imagine that you’ve refined your skills in the past week and welcome any impromptu show-downs or tournaments) and we may have a bit of jazzy music playing.
If you do decide to browse the floor or even the rest of the store, we’re giving you the opportunity to join us in helping relief efforts by including a $10 Red Cross donation with your purchase and, to make things a little easier for you, we’ll take $50 off your purchase throughout the store*. Finally, if you live below 39th Street and don’t have running water or power, John Barrett is offering hair wash and blow dry at a reduced rate. To ensure that those who truly need this special service get it, we ask that you make a reservation at 212 872 2700 and include your cross streets with the code HS50.
More than anything else, we want to give you a corner in the City where you feel a little more comforted and a little more at home during a time when everything feels so unsure and restless.
If you can’t make it Fifth Avenue and 58th Street, join us in helping New York’s relief efforts by texting REDCROSS to 90999 or make you donation on RedCross.org.
*In-store only. Red Cross donations must be made in $10 increments. Through Tuesday, November 6. Excludes beauty and leased departments.
