Christian Louboutin is celebrating his 20th anniversary this year. So how do we kick off our chicly-shod celebration? With an invitation to Parson’s the New School for Design recent Fashion Design alumni to participate in a challenge fit for the man who has us all fetishizing over Pigalle… but from entirely new heights.

Earlier this fall, these alumni were challenged to design a look inspired by a style from the designer’s hotly-anticipated, never-before-seen 20th Anniversary Collection (available at Bergdorf Goodman at the end of the month) and just yesterday Monsieur Louboutin & our own Linda Fargo selected the five lucky winners. In a flurry of ombre tulle and swishing silk chiffon, each emerging designer presented singular interpretations of Louboutin’s signature styles — there are vamps in red and black fringe, warriors in faux fur and lace, party girls with a kick of flirt in their skirt and sleek modern women decked in printed taffeta and knitted pleats. Although we still can’t reveal our Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary Collection (did you know we were the first store Christian Louboutin approached in the United States? He presented us with 300 pairs of shoes, and we were the first to carry him), we can share the winning contest designs!
