We asked Marketing Specialist Jen and Graphic Designer Stephanie to give the collection a once over & pick their hero products. . .

JEN’S PICK: Pure Color Five Color EyeShadow Palette in Violet Underground (212 872 2777) has all of the colors I would normally seek to satisfy my smoky eye addiction. The texture of the shadow is pearly, just without the iridescence, and both the warm and cool shades looked vibrant on my lids after only one application. I found the staying power to be not amazingly long (but then again, I don’t always use lid primers like I should…) I think these colors can be used for day or night. I tend to wear nighttime colors at all hours, (usually anchored by my YSL liner), but someone with a lighter hand can definitely tone it down by just lightly sweeping the powder on with the small brush that is conveniently included. - Jen, Marketing Specialist

STEPHANIE’S PICK: (Our color-shy Graphic Designer Stephanie, surprised herself by falling hard for Pure Color Velvet Lipstick in Black Cassis) – What I like most about this shade is that it is as bold and deep as the color appears in the tube. Sometimes dark lip colors apply sheer and do not offer enough coverage. Black Cassis is definitely not for shy girls! I think it’s perfect for wearing all black and hair pulled back. At first I was worried that the look might be too goth, but it ended up being quite vampy-chic. Here’s a little trick I figured out: Line your lips first with clear lip liner and apply the lipstick with a brush. Since the color is dark, it looks best when applied with precision. - Stephanie, Graphic Designer

EDITOR’S PICK: While Jen and Stephanie are totally on to something with their hero picks, my bottom dollar goes to Pure Color Quick-Thick Eyeliner in 01 Punker Black (212 872 2777). While the concept of a felt-tip liquid liner is nothing new under the sun, Estée Lauder scores bright red kisses for innovation. The linchpin here is size. You see, it really does matter! The shorter, slightly fatter than usual body allows for more control and grip. . . which ultimately leads to steady lines, precise application, and majorly wicked cat-eyes.
