PIECEY BOB

Give a medium length bob a bit of edge > Add texture with a medium barrel curling iron. Loosely curl hair section by section and pull curls apart to create a piecey feel. Top with a snug knit, like Hania by Hania Cole Woven Headband (212 872 2519).

GROWN UP PIG TAILS

Update your favorite school girl look > Instead of a dead-center part and super tight braids — part hair to the side, create an elegant side-swept bang, and create two loosely braided pig-tails. The side bang and loose braids make the look modern, and all grown up. Keep warm with a floppy knit like Hania by Anya Cole “Stella” (212 872 2519).

NATURAL WAVES

Go for felt. Patricia Underwood Revalli (212 872 2519) is snug enough to keep warm, but not so tight that it creates a hat line (yikes!). Try these two options: 1) Pull hair back into a loose bun, tuck underneath hat, and pull through a few face-framing hairs. 2) Cascade your beachy waves by twirling hair into place. Pull hair slightly forward to avoid tangles at the back of the neck.

SIDE SWEPT BANG

Even if you don’t have bangs you can create faux bangs with a deep part and sweep a bit of hair to the side. Secure in place with a loose knit.

CENTER PART

Give stick straight hair volume with a middle part. Sit hat about an inch back from natural hair line. For even more volume, use  a large-barreled curling iron to add a slight bend to hair.

MESSY SIDE BUN

Sport a felt hat, like Lola Ehrlich Mod Billy (212 872 2519) and a low off-center bun. Start with a side ponytail, twirl hair to achieve a bun, secure with hair pins, and pull apart a few strands of hair to give the bun a modern, messy feel.

LONG & SLEEK

A loose knit cap is one of the easiest options for keeping warm with style. Sport Try Patricia Underwood Cashmere Cap (212 872 2519) with hair parted on the side and super sleek. For added volume, rough hair with a bit of texturizing spray or create loose waves with a large barrel curling iron.
