Cool Collective: Introducing Acne to 5F
We’ve got a new kid on 5F and its name is Acne. Meaning Ambition to Create Novel Expressions, this Stockholm-based design collective represents all that is cool and personal — including its own magazine with articles on activism and donegal tweed. Breezy without trying to be. Perfect for layering (your thoughts or separates).
Starting out with jeans in 1996, Acne grew into the coolest pieces imaginable — like the perfect blouse (a little loose but still fitting precisely where it needs to fit) drifting above the perfect pair of cigaret pants, toss in a paper-thin, almost sheer cardigan and your weekend look is complete. Acne’s spring collection followed creative director Jonny Johansson to his recent trip to Marrakech (a beat that more than a few of our Spring Collections followed) with graphic prints reminiscent of Morocco’s intricate mosaics, ethereal maxi dresses fit for browsing the souk, cropped sweaters in terracotta and roomy city shorts. Conversely, the collection presented a mash-up of ultra-feminine: prim dresses and peplum jackets fit for the modern lady. Acne just arrived on 5F this morning — so be sure to give it a browse. Look for white paneled maxis with break-away slits; cool-girl moto-jackets; enviable electric colors like tangerine, cobalt and fuchsia; perfectly-fitting pants and sheer blouses intended to be buttoned-up.
