Summertime Daydream with Demoiselles
A summer reverie has romanced the Seventh Floor – and we’re in love!
As a tribute to D.Porthault’s new Demoiselles pattern, Nicholas Manville (the creative mind behind our decorative wonderland) papered our halls with the cheerful floral print. Even though the colors are very saturated, it blends well with our Tommy Michell tin flowers, Bernardaud’s blue and white china prints, as well as Spisani lucite pieces. Like our Porthault boutique, the entire floor feels breezy, fresh and magically light.

Even in tabletop, Nicholas mixed vintage china with Bernardaud’s blue & white pattern and punctuated the setting with bold red pillows and wine glasses.

Demoiselles by D.Porthault
Inspired by the whimsy and romance in Jacques Demy’s 1967 musical film Les Demoiselles de Rochefort (and one of its most celebrated songs You Must Believe in Spring), Demoiselles illustrates the film’s lyrical love letter through its floral print in cheerful reds and French blues. Originally designed in June 1970, the French linen house reprinted Demoiselles for the first time in 40 years.
Founded in 1920, D.Porthault built its reputation on introducing prints to bedding. Building their reputation and portfolio upon collaborations with artists, intellectuals and leaders in the theater and fashion world, D.Porthault is celebrated for their whimsical mixes of design and color.
