Each Friday we seem to find ourselves browsing sunny 5F for the latest looks to complete our weekend look. It only made sense to turn our regular tradition into a regular date on 5th/58th.

This week’s focus?
Yigal Azrouël’s Fall Essentials 

For the Pre-Fall & Fall 2012 Collections, I was really excited to bring back a more masculine and edgy feel to the clothing and play with a darker palette. Fall collections are one of my favorite collections to design. I really love working with outerwear; it gives me the chance to be innovative with silhouettes and play around with layering. One of my favorite trends for fall is pairing a structured, architectural coat with a more whimsical, body conscious dress. The contrast embodies the vision of the Cut25 by Yigal Azrouël girl.

The subtle blue of the leather acts as a neutral color but still allows you to stand out. I think there’s an interesting contrast between the feminine silhouette and the toughness of the leather. The dress is a statement on its own but nonetheless an effortless choice.
Fall Trend: Leather

This is one of my favorite jackets of the collection; it’s essentially a motorcycle jacket layered over a classic wool coat. It’s a great piece when the weather gets a little cooler.

This piece is really effortless and easy to wear. The color is bold, a unique choice that is big this Fall. My favorite part is the ethereal draping of the skirt. The asymmetrical hem is a fresh and young take on a traditional maxi dress.

I worked with a lot of graphic, ethnic inspired prints this season and what I really love about this particular one is how simple the dress really is but how the illusion of complexity you get with the print and the leather sleeves.

Every woman should own a crisp white button-up. What’s really special about this top is that the collar and cuffs are leather, which adds a cool touch to an iconic wardrobe staple.
