New York Fashion Week is upon us, which means that the city is flooded with it-girls and style stars who bring their A-game to the streets. It’s that high-level energy and outside-of-the-box thinking when it comes to getting dressed that inspired us to hone in on four of the top trends for fall and see how they could be worn two ways. To show off the looks, we tapped Allure and Teen Vogue‘s Fashion Director Rajni Jacques and BG’s very own Fashion Content Editor Jessica Minkoff. See, shop and feel free to experiment with each of them below.
EIGHTIES: Focus on sparkles, denim, neon hues, big shoulders, skinny sunglasses, and short hemlines.
THE WESTERN BOOT: Go west this season in not-your-average cowboy boots—think stamped croc and studs—and pair them with a flowing dress to off-set the footwear’s masculinity.
THE BELT BAG: “Look mom, no hands!” Belt bag are back and better than ever, especially for fashion week when you need to store the essentials in a compact-yet-chic manner.
PLAID: Get inspired by menswear fabrics and make them your own by styling them with opposing plaids or classic layers.
