A prominent player in the 6th floor’s ‘Modernist Collections’, Tomas Maier balances classic, understated design with Italian make. Known for his beautifully crafted swimwear and exquisite knits, Tomas Maier designs for the sophisticated woman who travels the globe. Set in the beautiful New York Botanical Gardens, we asked Charlotte Groeneveld of blog The Fashion Guitar to style the Spring Collection and fill us in where she’ll be wearing Tomas Maier this Spring:
Bergdorf Goodman: What is your favorite Tomas Maier piece from this collection?
Charlotte Groeneveled: I’m completely in love with the black shirt with the wide puffy sleeves!
BG: How will you be wearing it?
CG: I can see myself wearing it with a pair of high waisted jeans like the Levi’s retro ones and black suede pumps, or with the skirt I’m wearing it with in the photos, and Tomas Maier strappy sandals.
BG: We love following your blog to see where you’ll travel next. Where is the perfect destination to wear TM?
CG: Warm destinations, not necessarily a city. So for example: St Barths would be perfect, or when I find myself at the beach in Miami, or South of France.
BG: 3 travel essentials?
CG: Sunglasses, bikini, and lots of sunscreen. I usually wear shirts and cut off denim shorts with strappy sandals when on vacation to warmer places, so that’s what you will find in my suitcase. But when I’m traveling for work to let’s say Paris for Fashion Week I make sure to bring lip balm, sunglasses and my laptop. Nothing fancy, but I need to be able to work and fight those dry lips from flying!
BG: Spring trend you can’t wait to try.
CG: I’m looking forward to show my ankles and wear all those cropped jeans’ and midi-skirts!
BG: Who is the Tomas Maier woman in 3 words.
CG: Sophisticated, loves to travel, and is not afraid of wearing color.
