HELENA CHRISTENSEN:

Tell us about Lost In Flowers. What was your inspiration for the new scent?
We wanted to create a scent that felt like an explosion of every single flower in the world. Like falling backwards into a meadow of blooms with your eyes closed, inhaling deeply. Then crushing all those flowers into a little bottle and putting a cap on.

Who do you see as the lostinflowers woman? Is she traditional, modern, an adventurer?
She is a modern romantic. She is curious about all the small, precious details in life. She is mysterious, loving, adventurous and makes flower crowns when she takes nature walks.

Describe your process when creating a new fragrance. Do you begin with a favorite ingredient first, or the story?
We always have some special ingredient in the back of our mind that we want to experiment with on top of our base note Oud. Once we get into the lab with our perfumer, we let our imaginations run free and sniff our way through multiple scents before settling on a mix that give us that indescribable sensation.

What do you love most about this fragrance?
It doesn’t smell like any other scent, which is what we always try to aim for. The scent is created from a special place, deep within us. A yearning, a desire for something that will shift our mood, our hearts. Our love and appreciation for flowers is endless, we wanted to capture that in a bottle.

Tell us about Lost In Flowers. What was your inspiration for the new scent?
We wanted to create something floral joyful and fresh, yet that was still intriguing, with many layers to unfold.

OUR STORY BEHIND  lostinflowers
On a summer evening two strangers meet by chance, staying up all night to discover more about one another, slowly falling in love until dawn is upon them. Together they wander into a field of wild flowers, covered in morning dew with the floral scents exploding with scent as the first sunlight hits the flowers. lostinflowers defines that moment, when lovers find each other and are completely entranced. Knowing they will be together from this moment on. It’s magical, innocent, joyful, seductive and thrilling all at the same time.

Who do you see as the Lost In Flowerswoman? Is she traditional, modern, an adventurer?
She is adventurous, not afraid to dive into something unknown and is deeply romantic.

Describe your process when creating a new fragrance. Do you begin with a favorite ingredient first, or the story?
I think the ingredients create our story. When creating lostinflowers we first found red champaca – known as the the joy oil for its mood enhancing qualities – then searched for other ingredients to create our floral fresh scent. As we smell each ingredient and understand the power and mythology behind it, the story unfolds. It’s exciting.
