Ronnie Spektor

Meet Ronnie Spector, a mega-hit pop singer during the 1960′s and, still to this day, a force to be reckoned with. Until Thursday night comes, read below to get the exclusive on some of her worst fashion memories, her favorite look, and her guilty pleasure.

Bergdorf Goodman: Hi Ronnie! Thanks so much for sitting down with us to talk a little bit about Fashions Night Out.
Ronnie Spector: My pleasure. Glad I could be here!

BG: So is this your first time performing in a store window?
Ronnie Spector: No, actually. Back when I was 16, Juanita Poitier (Sidney’s wife), who was our Ronettes manager got us a job dancing in the window of the Hawaii Kai, a Tiki joint on 50th and Broadway. We were a human window exhibit, and the three of us would just do the hula together. We were underage at the time and could nowhere except that window.

BG: And do you have a worst childhood fashion memory from back then?
Ronnie Spector: We were working at the Brooklyn Fox and while we were on stage someone came into our dressing room and cut up our dresses. So we were forced to wear the same outfits for six different shows that day.

BG: Oh my gosh! That’s insane. And do you have a most memorable on-stage blunder you’d want to share?
Ronnie Spector: Can’t recall any.

BG: None??
Ronnie Spector: No, I can’t really remember any off the top of my head.

BG: Okay, then what’s a favorite costume you’ve seen or worn?
Ronnie Spector: In the 60′s I had a Chinese red silk dress with a slit up the side. I loved that dress!

BG: Oh,and we LOVE a great red statement dress! Alright, now onto a trickier one…. Any guilty pleasures you’d like to share?
Ronnie Spector: White Castle hamburgers.

BG: Love it! And last but not least Ronnie… any special memories related to Bergdorf Goodman?
Ronnie Spector: My memory of Bergdorf Goodman was that I could never afford it as a kid.

BG: And now you’re performing in one of our windows on Fashions Night Out. What a full-circle moment! See you Thursday evening!
