Curtain Call: FNO on 5th Avenue

9 9 2010

FNO Windows - Microphone

Always their own kind of spectacle,
our 5th Avenue windows are taking on a new role this Friday night.

Featuring out-of-this-world installations — from performance art to puppetry — Fifth Avenue is where you’ll want to begin  your Fashion’s Night Out.  Watch Mr. Douglas Little Wax Poetic as he creates a ball gown from hand-dripped molten wax. Rumor has it Mr. Little has more tricks up his clever sleeves: he’s pursuing Gilty Pleasures as two fair ladies sit in a golden, 18th-century salon and spin straw into…yes, gold; and he’s pushing ink in Poked Through that’s a bit of forced perspective starring the singular Selene Luna and a tattoo artist who will ink a dress that Mr. Little designed.

Mixed media sculpture John Kessler’s dizzying video installation has been created specifically with our passersby in mind…it’s where painterly blue and video psychedelia intertwine & flicker.

Not to be missed, our cabaret show promises to be a colorful, madcap affair.  From 7:30-10:30, our emcee Joey Arias will take you through a colorful, madcap collection of dance routines by the World Famous Pontani Sisters; puppetry from Basil Twist and his 1940s dance band, The Dream Music Orchestra; frenzied coiffuring a la Edward Scissorhands from celebrated hair stylist Edward Tricomi (apparently his soundtrack features Jimmy Hendrix & Led Zeppelin); musical performances from The Ones and much, much more.

So won’t you meet us on 5th Avenue and 58th Street?
No matter where you are, we’ve made sure to keep you entertained!
