Christian Louboutin Windows

We all know that Bergdorf Goodman is a Mecca for the shoe-obsessed.  And no one taps into obsession quite like Christian Louboutin—his devotees see red everywhere they look.  Louboutin is celebrating 20 years of thrilling shoes, with everything from a shoe-signing to a 20th Anniversary capsule collection commemorating favorite designs of seasons past.  View More

‘Unleashed’ is here

11 23 2011

The Holiday Windows are up, lights are hanging on Fifth Avenue, and there’s a line at the airport — it must be time for our holiday video.  “Unleashed” is here and it’s ready to rumble around the internet.  BG has always been a dog-friendly store but for “Unleashed” we got downright intimate.  Dogs had free run through the store (the filming took place at 5am) and as you’ll see, they took full advantage.

We were very happy to work with the Humane Society of New York, which has been helping animals in need since 1904.  We hope you enjoy it — and we want to see photos of your dogs for an upcoming project, so start planning your portraits.

Now it’s time to meet Salty and the rest of the pack.

They’re Alive: Carnival of the Animals

11 21 2011

The BG Holiday Windows are a most welcome institution — they give a lot of pleasure to us while others do the hard work.  We have the easy part—we show up marvel and take pictures.  David Hoey and the visual team have the hard part: planning, building, perfecting, and collecting antiques for more than two years.

Well the work is over and the windows are here: The Carnival of the Animals have arrived.  Each window features a specific material that depicts animals you’ll find from icebergs to the tropics—but rarely on Fifth Avenue.

Get Dressed! Styling Fifth Avenue for Fashion Week

Fashion Week Fifth Avenue Windows: Get Dressed!

David Hoey is a collector. Well, perhaps that’s a rather large understatement but hoarder seems too clinical and severe… and David does far, far more than collect.  The process unfolds a bit like this: an idea comes to mind and the search begins, across the City and Internet, for months – sometimes spanning over a year.  For last November’s Holiday Windows, Hoey & co gathered hundreds of model ships for one of the Wish You Were Here travel-themed windows.  Previously he’s hunted & gathered wooden staircases of all shapes, twists and sizes; vintage dolls and mannequins; scissors of all materials & size; sundry whiz-bang curiosities from across the globe; and, most recently, a vintage wardrobe to dress over 1,000 Barbies and dolls.
