Pernille Teisbaek Goes Inside CHANEL’s Handbag Atelier

Video by Gautier Billotte

Since 1990, the Ateliers de Verneuil-en-Halatte, spread over 21,000 m2 in a little village of the same name, just north of Paris, have been perpetuating the development and production of bags by the House of CHANEL. It is there that a team of craftspeople, guided by referents, carry out the 180 operations required to bring an iconic CHANEL bag to life.

To continue the celebration of the launch of CHANEL’s Paris-New York 2019/20 Métiers d’art collection at Bergdorf Goodman, we tapped Pernille Teisbaek to visit the maison’s aforementioned atelier to witness first hand the making of one of its iconic 2.55 bags. Watch the video now and shop the collection in store on the Main Floor.
