At Bergdorf Goodman, service is our calling card, and we believe that service should be provided in style. Please meet a few of the people who are ready to help you on your own terms.
Domenica Paradisi makes her personal shopping headquarters on 5F, but she finds clothes from all over the store. She began at BG in 1996.
What is something that you encourage women to wear?
If they’re young, I say be yourself and take a chance, now.
You’re obsessed with accessories.
Yes! Without accessories, it feels like you’re naked when you leave the house. I always notice a woman’s shoes and bag. Maybe it’s because I’m Italian.
What did you wear growing up?
My grandmother in Italy was a master dressmaker who would always make beautiful clothes for us. Of course, when we went out, we would roll this long dress up and wear a short skirt.
What are you excited about this fall?
McQueen’s prints and colors are great. And unusual clutches; that’s what I want.

Alla Prokopov is a personal shopper specializing in Chanel. She has worked at Bergdorf Goodman for twenty-seven years.
What’s something every woman should own?
Simple: a Chanel jacket and a Chanel bag. She should buy a classic—and the minute she has it, she’s addicted.
What kind of jewelry do you wear?
I love Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Love. Every single piece. When I touch her jewelry, it makes me smile.
When you wear serious heels, how tall are they?
Six inches or more. At the end of the day, if I’m in a lot of pain, I’ll put on flats, but only for an hour.
How many Chanel bags do you have?
I’d love to tell you, but my husband might divorce me. I don’t hide them, but I don’t do inventory. It’s scary [laughing].

George Glynos works in the newly renovated Ermenegildo Zegna shop on the Second Floor. He has dressed men at Bergdorf Goodman since 1997.
Many men have a specific way of shopping.
Every man has a comfort zone. It’s hard to tell a man that the trench coat he used to buy is no longer available. He’ll say, “How could this happen?” We have to explain how, even though it’s different, it may be even better.
Fit changes over time.
Everything fits a little trimmer. But most men are going to look even better. My job is to help a customer crack the code and find what’s right for him.
You’ve specialized in Ermenegildo Zegna for years.
Zegna is a cross between modern and classic, and it’s a very flattering look on a lot of men. And it’s not just their suits; they make terrific outerwear.
Are men reluctant to try new things?
At first, yes. But men come back and say, “I love that new silhouette,” and want another one. “And can you make all the suits in my closet fit the same way?”
