BG Stories: Dress Up

I remember it as if it were yesterday…

I was around 12 or 13  when my girlfriend and I would visit the Couture floor after school and try on everything around us.  These were things that were way too… shall we say not appropriate for our adolescent age?  Many of the dresses didn’t even come in our size, but every time we visited the sales woman would treat us like queens.  She treated us well – serving us drinks (non-alcoholic, of course) as we played dress-up.  Sometimes she would pull things more appropriate for our style and size.  It made my friend, Jen and me feel very special and very grown up.

Of course our parents knew we shopped there… but they had no clue we were playing dress-up in the couture boutique.  Although I now live in Boston, every time I visit Bergdorf I return to those times I played dress-up with Jennifer, when everyone was so sweet to us.
