We joined with Paris-based designer Andrew Gn earlier this week to discuss Worst Childhood Fashion Memories, Must Haves and trends he’d never like to see return.

The designer’s inspiration behind his Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection:

As a designer I’ve always been obsessed with two things: Making the most beautiful and luxurious clothing possible; and finding a link between the past and the future. I think timelessness is the enduring mark of beauty.

In creating my fall-winter collection, my mind went to the Victorian period, particularly portraiture and photography. The reference yielded unabashedly romantic elements, but they are interpreted for these spare, stark times – without frills and a darker edge.
