My look for Richard Gere in American Gigolo marked a change in men’s fashion. It was soft, relaxed, elegant and sexy, while still being tailored. Richard brought it to the world, and Bergdorf Goodman was one of the first stores to buy my men’s collection.

I wanted to mix the adventure spirit of the New York City man over the past 111 years with our Spanish roots. Using a material as cordovan which was originally used at the city of Cordova in Andalusia (Spain) in a wing tip shoe which might be worn from a jazz musician at the Village to a broker at Wall Street, a Bergdorf Goodman classic.

To celebrate Bergdorf Goodman’s 111 Anniversary, Brioni created a dinner jacket that is suitable for any icon. In 1952, at the Sala Bianca in Florence’s Pitti Palace, Brioni presented the velvet dinner jacket for the first men’s runway fashion show ever staged. This historic piece was recreated in a luxurious grey ottoman color. It has a satin lapel which is hand-stitched to leave a subtle line of the velvet along the border—a true mark of sartorial excellence—while the jacket’s inside lining is an exclusive silk print in purple, grey and lavender, inspired by BG’s signature colors.

MY inspiration for BG 111th is a Tribute to the EVER FABULOUS HOLIDAY ANIMAL FANTASY WINDOWS by Linda Fargo and team at Bergdorf Goodman.
These moving LION TAMER cuff links are true to the Jan Leslie style merging luxury and humor as well as a salute to BG.

Exclusively made for Bergdorf Goodman’s 111th Anniversary, the Premium Cashmere Elements jacket offers a sophisticated look using the finest cashmere available. During the design process, we drew inspiration from the historic Bergdorf Goodman logo. The safari-style jacket features a lavender chalk-stripe cashmere-and-silk lining combining the famous Bergdorf Goodman lavender with the iconic Zegna chalk stripe detail. We complete the look with a bird’s-eye patterned Premium Cashmere sweater, also in lavender.
