Last night, here at Bergdorf Goodman, we officially kicked of the Holiday Season. ‘Inspired’ was the theme of the evening, and we were thrilled to partner with UNICEF, an organization rich in the tradition of giving back. It was our honor to flip the switch of the iconic UNICEF snowflake suspended over Fifth Avenue. Actress Tea Leoni joined Bergdorf Goodman President Joshua Schulman, Bergdorf Goodman Fashion Director Linda Fargo, and UNICEF’s Carol Stern with touching remarks about her decade long role as UNICEF Ambassador.
When the curtains dropped from the highly anticipated Holiday Windows, we were treated to an absolute visual feast. David Hoey and the Bergdorf Goodman Visual Team were inspired by The Arts this year, with a dazzling windows celebrating: Literature, Architecture, Theater, Painting, Dance, Sculpture and Film. A New York City treasure, be sure to stop by 5th Avenue and 58th Street to revel in their magic!
Also inspiring us last night was the 60th anniversary of an American classic, “White Christmas”. The crowd was treated to several musical performances, including the movie’s signature song by the talented young members of “Broadway Kids Care”. Next on stage was the spectacular Tony Award Winner Nikki M. James, who brought the house down with “Man with the Bag”. And as if we needed another reason to celebrate, it was Bergdorf Goodman Betty Halbreich’s birthday!
The evening ended with an extravagant fireworks display from the Bergdorf Goodman roof, illuminating the entire block. What an exciting start to the Holiday Season!
