Bergdorf Goodman partners with Zite to Introduce

BERGDORF GOODMAN VISION

The Personalized 5th/58th Street Digital Magazine

San Francisco, New York (March 13, 2012, 8:00 a.m. PT) – Zite, a personalized magazine app for the iPad and the iPhone, and luxury retailer, Bergdorf Goodman, today announced the unveiling of Bergdorf Goodman Vision, a section inside Zite dedicated to the brand.

Named number one iPad news app of 2011 by Apple and top iPad app of 2011 by The New York Times, Zite allows users to create a digital magazine finely tailored to their interests. Users rate the articles they read, so the more the reader interacts with the app, the more it will adapt to their preferences.  For example, on Bergdorf Goodman Vision, if a user gives a thumbs-up to “beauty” articles, they will receive more content on that topic in the future. Bergdorf Goodman Vision will remain highly personalized – just like any other section in Zite.

“In February of this year, we partnered with Zite to provide readers front row coverage of New York Fashion Week and we are excited to continue the relationship with the introduction of Bergdorf Goodman Vision. The content of our branded section is synergistic with the many interests of our customer, touching upon everything from fashion to fine dining and arts and culture around New York City. The personalized magazine experience Zite offers allows users to aggregate articles that are customized to their specific interests and provides a great convenience to the reader,” said Mallory Andrews, SVP, Sales Promotion, Marketing and Public Relations, Bergdorf Goodman.

Readers can expect to see an eclectic mix of articles on topics ranging from the latest in fashion from street style to runway, New York City culture, travel, dining, events, theater, books, music and more. Bergdorf Goodman Vision will also draw content from the Bergdorf Goodman blog, 5th/58th.

“Bergdorf Goodman is making major strides in digital media and mobile – they see the opportunities to further extend their premium brand to consumers where they spend their time,” said Mark Johnson, CEO, Zite. “We view each partnership carefully to ensure an untarnished user experience and our collaboration with brands, like Bergdorf, is a testament to the possibilities that exist for both consumers and brands, via the Zite platform.”

Zite’s mission is to bring the best Web content based on a user’s tastes and interests.  As the company continues to grow post-CNN acquisition, its promise and commitment to delivering relevant and personalized content remains stronger than ever through its brand partnerships such as Bergdorf Goodman.
