CHINA UNION PAY DEBIT AND CREDIT CARDS NOW ACCEPTED AT BERGDORF GOODMAN

New York, NY, January 29, 2013 — As a further commitment to welcoming Chinese customers, Bergdorf Goodman is now accepting China Union Pay (CUP).  “China Union Pay is a preferred method of payment among China’s luxury consumers,” said Joshua Schulman, President, Bergdorf Goodman. “We are pleased to offer this service so that our Chinese guests can shop with ease as they discover New York City’s premier destination for luxury shopping and designer fashion.”

This year, to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake, Bergdorf Goodman has many plans for both the store and the website.  To commemorate the New Year, Bergdorf Goodman will have Chinese greeters with Mandarin name tags and comprehensive knowledge of the store, welcoming and assisting customers in both the Women’s and Men’s stores.  Traditional red envelopes, including Mandarin store directories, will be available.  Additionally, BG Restaurant and Goodman’s Café will offer traditional chrysanthemum tea along with cookies that are made with green tea and garnished with black sesame seeds daily from 3-6pm.

Known for its legendary window design, Bergdorf Goodman will also dedicate an exclusive Fifth Avenue window to the Year of the Snake from February 4-18th.

Bergdorf Goodman’s website, BG.com, is playing an integral role in the celebration as well.  On BG.com/China there is a Mandarin welcome page where customers can preview store merchandise and contact Mandarin speaking Personal Shoppers via China@bergdorfgoodman.com.  The company continues to grow its presence in Chinese social media and is gaining followers on Weibo and Tudou.  Weibo and the Bergdorf Goodman blog, 5th/58th, will honor the Year of the Snake through exclusive content highlighting serpent accessories and jewelry and dedicated blog posts written in Mandarin.

Bergdorf Goodman features fashion’s definitive designers, including: Celine, Chanel, Prada, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Tom Ford, Dior, Gucci, Goyard and YSL. The world-famous Shoe Salon is destination for Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Azzedine Alaia, Tod’s and Giuseppe Zanotti.
