We visited Tokyo for two of our women’s shoots.  As you can imagine, we found terrific locations, from the traditional to the futuristic. Our base was the refined Hotel Okura, which has an elegant, understated lobby.  Our day would begin with an impressive Japanese breakfast, served by women in pink kimonos.  Then it was off to work.

Golden Gai is an area in the Shinjuku neighborhood with narrow lanes and very small bars.  And small means small: some of them hold only a few people, and are more like private clubs.  Sometimes we literally had to let the clients pass us on their way to have a drink.  Such close quarters require a certain amount of flexibility, but when the shoot was over we didn’t have to go far for a drink.
