New: Guerlain Terra Azzurra

Summer Makeup Collection by Emilio Pucci

4 18 2012

  This one is huge.

Ok. Deep breathe. Be cool, ladies. . . Guerlain Terra Azzurra by Emilio Pucci is otherworldly.

Drawing inspiration from summertime in the Italian Riviera, the color collection is a vivid mosaic of bronze, corals, pinks, and blues. And the blues. . . from nails, to mascara, to khol, to a slick lip gloss (yes, a blue lip gloss)  - the blues do not disappoint.

For a collection so stunning and so layered with rich intensity & texture — we feel compelled to call in the big guns to help navigate the scene. Jason Beers, our favorite Guerlain Beauty Boy, breaks down Terra Azzurra and shares pro tips on how to wear this gorgeous collection. Listen up, take copious notes, then hustle it over to the Beauty Level (or phone us: 212 872 2734). . . because the only bad news about this collection is: it’s for a limited run.

(the mood: Portofino)

Take it away, Jason . . .

I get it. Collections can be overwhelming. So many pretty colors to love…but where does one place them? Can I wear a blue that bright? Is this coral right for my complexion? Will this shade make me look old? — I’ve heard it all. For the Terra Azzurra look, we start with  summer’s new Météorites Perles D’azur (applied with  Météorites Collector’s Brush – it’s designed with the perfect density to pick up the right amount of our powders).

We don’t call our Meteorites “pearls with a purpose” for nothing! It has all the skin evening power of the standard pearls mix with an added corrective blue pearl that works with the pink to hide tired complexions. Apply all over the face for a flawless start to your summer look.

Terracotta Gloss also comes in two additional shades this summer. Porto Ercole #11 is a beautiful, neutral brown that looks great with every skin tone while Porto Azzurro #12 is an eye-popping blue that might scare you away in the tube but don’t let it! Try it on bare lips to give you a natural, glossy finish that’s easy for the summer or wear it over lipstick to add more depth and sophistication to the original shade.

Thank you, Jason!

And while we hate to play favorites, if forced to pick a hero or two (or three), here’s how we’d lean:

Even an eight year old child knows that Guerlain makes the best bronzers in the business…So to not procure Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush — well that’s as wrong as sin.

Light up your nails & lift your mood with this dynamic lacquer duo:  Terracotta Nail Polish in Paradisio (a cheery, luminous coral pink with a high-lacquer finish) and Riviera (a powerful electric indigo blue with a subtly metallic finish).

Much like the Bronzing Powders, Guerlain Khôl Kajal (in original Black) is a major crowd pleaser. If you’re already a fan, we don’t have to convince you to jump on the 2.0 version, “Blu Acqua”. However, if you’ve never tried blue liner, this is a great starter shade because it’s not so intense that it intimidates. Trust us on this one!

Guerlain Terra Azzurra by Emilio Pucci is on counter for a limited time. Call Jason to arrange a walk through of the collection. We’re fairly certain you’ll find lots to love.
